I moved to Playa del Carmen Mexico in August 2007 after my husband and I decided that we didn’t want to look back in 15 years and wonder “What If…”?

We packed up the kids and the dogs and road tripped it down through the US from our home state, for about 25 years, of Virginia. We arrived just as Hurricane Dean was arriving. Bienvenidos a Mexico!

I almost always have a camera with me. I love to catch life as it is happening! Emotion is so spontaneous and to be able to capture that is fantastic.

I started off taking photos of children and families. After a year I added wedding photography and got really hooked! Being asked to photograph a day that is so special is a huge honor and to see the satisfaction and joy on a client's face when they see the photos is immeasurable. Shortly after getting married and adding a teaching job to the mix we started a family and photography, professionally, got put on hold while I was busy taking candids of our kids. Come full circle and I have made my passion my job again. Funny how that happens!

Okay, some quick facts about me: My family means everything to me and I do anything for them. They support me in my crazy running habit and they continually smile at me when I am taking photos of them. Dark chocolate & a glass of white wine are my weakness. A day with my feet in the sand and a warm sea breeze blowing through my hair is a fabulous thing. I miss eating green mint chocolate chip ice cream…the green kind…it’s not real if it’s not green. I listen to pretty much every kind of music and therefore satellite radio is a huge plus. I was a weather channel junkie in the states but I quickly learned that here in Playa you can’t go by what ANY channel or web site says…unless there is a hurricane coming. I have never been in a cleaner Wal-Mart than the one here in Playa del Carmen. I eat cereal for breakfast every morning and I usually end up sharing ½ of it with my daughter. Living & working in a state of “eternal vacation” is so challenging and yet, so rewarding and I wouldn’t change it for the world!
